Virginia Early Intervention eLearning Center @VCU
The Virginia Early Intervention eLearning Center at VCU provides direct access to the online courses required to earn initial EI certificate. It also provides access to online courses to meet recertification training requirements. See below for additional information about initial certification and recertification in Virginia (including application details).
Certification Courses (see tab below)
Individual practitioners of early intervention (EI) services in Virginia, except physicians, audiologists and registered dieticians, must be certified by the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia as an Early Intervention Professional, Early Intervention Specialist, or Early Intervention Case Manager.
Professional Development Courses (see tab below)
These interactive modules are designed to address topics that are relevant to EI practitioners, local system managers, faculty and students. These modules can be completed as recertification hours for maintaining the Virginia Early Intervention Certification or other licensure.

To access a course in which you've already enrolled, login here following these steps.
- Go to the VCU Canvas Login Portal
- Click “Login for non-credit / other”
- On the VCU login page enter your login (your email address) and your password. If you’ve forgotten it, use the Forgot Password link on the page.
- On submit you’ll be taken to your Canvas Dashboard.
- Click the course you wish to return to.
Course Certificates
Accessing your Canvas Course Certificate:
- Go to the VEIPD Canvas Course Catalog
- Select Login
- Login to VCU Canvas Catalog
- Make Sure you Are on this page https://veipd.catalog.vcu.edu/
- Select the Upper Right Drop Down Menu with “Your Name”
- Select the “Student Dashboard”
- Choose the “Completed” option
- View or Download your certificate

Review Canvas Computer Requirements. In addition, please also check the following:
- A broadband Internet connection is required due to the inclusion of audio and video.
- At times you may need to wait a moment for a screen to fully load.
- Enable Cookies if you’ve disabled them. View instructions on how to enable Cookies (locate the browser you use in the list).
- Courses include sound, therefore you need headphones or speakers.
- Recommended browsers: recent Google Chrome, recent Mozilla Firefox, recent Safari.
